You Don’t Need More Motivation
For years we’ve been told that if exercise isn’t sticking, it’s a motivation problem.
That if we really wanted it badly enough, we’d just be more consistent.
But here’s the truth I see time and time again — especially with women in midlife:
It’s rarely about motivation.
It’s about environment.
Let me explain.
Most women I work with want to feel stronger.
They want more energy.
They want to look after their health properly now.
What they’re missing isn’t desire — it’s the right conditions to support them.
Because trying to exercise on your own often means:
- Second guessing if you’re doing things “right”
- Skipping sessions when energy feels low
- Pushing too hard… or not quite enough
- Letting one missed workout turn into three weeks off
And none of that means you’ve failed. It just means you’re human.
Trust me, there have been many times when I’ve not wanted to show up for a class, my body has felt to tired or achy for the class I’m supposed to teach that day.
This is where the right environment makes all the difference.
When you’re in a supportive space:
- You don’t have to think — you just show up
- The workout is already planned, balanced and joint-aware
- You’re guided, encouraged and reminded to listen to your body
- You’re not doing this alone
The day’s I don’t always feel up to it, I adapt the class – I might teach a gentler, floor based session or focus on mobility. I try as much as possible to practice what I teach.
Consistency becomes easier not because you suddenly have more willpower — but because the structure is there to hold you.
And here’s something else that often surprises women…
You don’t need to be “fit enough” to join a class.
You build fitness by being in the room.
You don’t need perfect routines, perfect weeks or perfect energy.
You just need a place where you’re supported exactly as you are right now.
That’s why I offer trial options and class bundles — so you can experience what it feels like to move with guidance, encouragement and a pace that actually suits this stage of life.
No pressure.
No expectation to be anything other than yourself.
Just a chance to see how different exercise can feel when it’s done with you, not to you.
If you’ve been feeling stuck, inconsistent, or unsure where to start again — this could be your sign.
Come and try a class. Workout from the comfort of your own home but feel like you are in a class environment. No judgment, now having to keep up, know all the moves or work as hard as the woman in the front row.
No intimidating gyms.
Just you and me
Let the environment do some of the heavy lifting for you.
You don’t need more motivation.
You just need the right support.
